Non-Profit Public Relations Staff: In addition to credentialed news media, media registration and News Room access is available for public relations staff representing non-profit medical and mental health organizations. Advance registration is required for non-profit public relations representatives by writing press@psych.org or calling 703-907-8640.
APA NEWS ROOM AT THE ANNUAL MEETING
LOCATION: Rooms 250-256 (News Room), West Mezzanine Level, Moscone Center
HOURS: Friday May 17 3:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m.
Saturday-Tuesday, May 18-21: 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Wednesday, May 22: 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
PURPOSE: The News Room serves the needs of reporters, writers, and production crews covering the Annual Meeting. The News Room provides registered members of the media a working environment including assistance in coordinating interviews, access to press releases, computers, Internet access, telephones, and other assistance as needed.
Press Briefing to Announce Release of DSM-5
WHAT: A press briefing to announce the final Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, fifth edition (DSM-5) followed by remarks from APA and DSM-5 leadership about important changes to the manual.

New Research Press Briefing

More than 500 New Research posters will be presented at the APA Annual Meeting in San Francisco and we have selected several research projects to be highlighted in our New Research Press Briefing.
Topics to be addressed include short and long-term effects of trauma, Internet/computer addiction, bullying and teen suicide and anxiety treatment via email.
